"Unfreezing Fee" Required Before Withdrawal: The Standard Script for Follow-Up Extortion

Your account has been "frozen for risk control" — you must deposit an equal amount to unlock it. This is the final, most devastating strike of the scam.

A victim had invested approximately HKD 5.5 million on an investment platform. When requesting a withdrawal, the system displayed: "Abnormal activity detected — account frozen by risk control." Customer service stated that an "unfreezing security deposit" equal to the frozen amount was required, and that both funds would be returned together after verification.
After the victim borrowed money and paid the deposit, the agent claimed: "Insufficient transaction volume — you must generate USD 300,000 in additional turnover." By now unable to pay further, the victim found all platform contact points had vanished.
How the Scheme Works
1. The "freeze" is manually triggered by scammers in the backend — it has nothing to do with genuine risk management.
2. Payments labelled "unfreezing fee," "security deposit," or "turnover requirement" are demanded in escalating layers until nothing remains.
3. Scammers may urge you to take out loans or sell property, pushing you deeper into debt.
⚠️ WARNING
No legitimate platform will ever ask you to "deposit funds to unfreeze your account." If you see this demand — stop transferring money immediately, preserve all evidence, and report it to the authorities.

記住這一句

凡是提現前要你先付錢(稅費、保證金、解凍費、流水費)的,全部是詐騙。立即停止轉帳、保存證據、報警處理。
