USDT "Arbitrage": The High-Yield Trap Offering 1% Daily Returns

Marketed under names such as "Exchange Spread Arbitrage" and "Quantitative Brick-Moving," schemes promising daily returns of 0.8% to 1.5% are, in essence, Ponzi schemes.

A group operating under the name "XX Capital" promoted "USDT Arbitrage" in online communities: users were instructed to transfer their cryptocurrency to designated addresses, where an automated program would supposedly profit from price differences across exchanges, returning 1% daily with the guarantee that principal could be withdrawn at any time.
The victim initially invested 10,000 USDT and received payments for 12 consecutive days. Convinced, they increased their investment to the equivalent of approximately HKD 3 million. Starting on Day 13, the platform suspended withdrawals citing "system upgrades" and "risk control reviews," and the group was subsequently dissolved.
How the Scheme Works
1. Early "returns" are paid using money deposited by later investors — a classic Ponzi structure.
2. Genuine cross-exchange arbitrage typically yields returns measured in fractions of a percent. After accounting for fees, a consistent 1% daily return is mathematically unsustainable.
3. Once funds are transferred to addresses controlled by the scammer, they can be instantly mixed and moved, making tracing extremely difficult.
⚠️ WARNING
Be skeptical of any "guaranteed returns" exceeding 20% annually. A 1% daily return — equivalent to 365% per year — exists nowhere outside of scams.
