Romance Scams on Dating Platforms — Tinder, Tantan, Pairs, and Others

They hide behind affection to target your USDT. Many such romance scammers operate on social and dating platforms.

After establishing an emotional connection on dating apps, the person will introduce financial opportunities or personal crises: "insider investment channels," "family medical emergencies," "business shortfalls," or "platform withdrawals temporarily blocked." They may propose joint investments, ask for temporary loans, or invite you to view their "trading platform" and follow their lead.
USDT is favored by scammers because transfers are fast, relatively anonymous, difficult to reverse, and do not require traditional banking systems — making tracing and recovery extremely challenging. Initial requests may be small and even repaid to build trust, but subsequent demands grow larger. Once you hesitate or refuse, the relationship turns cold or ends abruptly with blocking. The friendship or romance was never genuine — it was a calculated strategy from the start.
✅ How to protect yourself:
1. Be highly skeptical if someone you have recently met online proposes investments, recommends platforms, or requests financial assistance
2. Any platform or "investment opportunity" promoted exclusively through private messages should be verified independently — most will not appear on trusted listing sites
3. Never send funds to individuals you have not met in person, regardless of how convincing the story may be
4. Protect your privacy: do not disclose your holdings, exchange platforms, or account security details to new acquaintances
5. Discuss the situation with a trusted friend or family member before committing money — outside perspective often identifies inconsistencies
